Navigation expert Jeppesen has recently added 50 new aerial photos to its popular C-MAP MAX electronic charts for the Great Lakes and Trent-Severn Waterway in Canada.

These high-resolution aerial photographs of locks, bridges, marinas and harbor inlets will enhance the navigational experience throughout the Trent-Severn Waterway, providing a powerful visual reference to enhance situational awareness.

This 386-kilometer canal system was originally created for commercial shipping, but is now one of Canada’s most popular recreational boating 'highways.' Registered as a Canadian National Historic Site, the Trent-Severn Waterway connects Lake Ontario at Trenton to the Georgian Bay portion of Lake Huron at Port Severn. It includes a series of natural waterways such as the Trent River, Otonabee River, Kawartha Lakes, Lake Simcoe, Lake Couchiching and the Severn River. It also features 32 kilometers of man-made channels, 44 locks, 39 swing bridges and 160 dams and control structures to manage water levels for navigation and flood control. Accurate, up-to-date electronic charts and the situational awareness of detailed aerial imagery are critical in navigating these popular and challenging waters.

Club Jeppesen members can receive these enhancements as part of their automatic annual chart update. They are also available to boaters purchasing affordable chart updates or new C-MAP MAX electronic charts.
