At the 2013 Finn Gold Cup in Tallinn, Estonia, Australia’s Oliver Tweddell has finished 11th, his best finish at the class’s World Championship.
The light winds that hampered racing all week were again the determining factor on Saturday, with just the 10 boat medal race completed on the final day.
The lack of breeze meant that Tweddell finished the week in 11th in the 86 boat fleet, picking up his first Finn Gold Cup win along the way.
'While it was a shame that I wasn’t able to achieve my goal of making the medal race I learnt a lot from this event,' said Tweddell. 'I was pleased to be able to perform so well this week given the boat issues I had before racing, and how difficult the conditions were.
'I’m now looking forward to going home and training in preparation for next season, as well as hitting the Aussie race season,' he said.
Jake Lilley was 34th at his first Finn Gold Cup, finishing as the second placed junior for the third straight regatta.
Brendan Casey ended the week in 46th, with Joe McMillan in 76th.

There will be three Australians in action at the Laser Radial Men’s World Championship with Tristan Brown, Nicholas Howe and Bradley Utting all in action.
