His continuing involvement will include being Chairman of our national body, the Boating Industries Alliance of Australia, Chairman of the Maritime Advisory Council in NSW and Vice - President of the Marina Industries Association.

The AGM saw two new faces join the board. Lyndon Turner of Nautilus Marine Insurance joins as Treasurer and Shannon Stocks of Shannon Outboard Service as committee chairman of the Marine Industry Mechanical Repairers Association.

President Alan Blake said that he was grateful for Darren’s leadership over the last couple of years and thanked him for his time and efforts.

'We have a strong board and as an Association we are well equipped to take on the challenges that our industry will face in the coming years. We have excellent programs and a show that will require nurturing and I have no doubt that the board and BIA team will do a good job for the benefit of all of our members.'
