Maintenant bien installés dans le train des alizés qui les mènera jusqu'à La Martinique, les solitaires n'ont qu'un objectif : conserver une vitesse optimale, gagner si possible quelques dixièmes de noeud sur le voisin le plus proche. Un boulot à plein temps… A bord des Figaro Bénéteau 2, la vie s'organise entre longs moments à la barre, courtes tranches de sommeil, studieuses heures à la table à cartes, et repas à heures fixes histoire de garder un bon rythme biologique.

Toujours dominé par Erwan Tabarly (Armor Lux - Comptoir de la Mer), le groupe du sud attend un nouvel invité : Damien Guillou (La Solidarité Mutualiste) en provenance du nord. Où va-t-il s'intercaler? Pendant ce temps-là, Eric Baray (Tektôn - AGM/Région Martinique) va faire escale cette nuit dans l'archipel des Canaries, à Gran Canaria, pour faire réparer ses pilotes automatiques. Le skipper martiniquais est contraint de barrer H24 depuis hier…

Simon Troël (Les Recycleurs Bretons) et Corentin Horeau (Bretagne – Crédit Mutuel Espoir) cravachent dur. Leur meilleur ennemi se prénomme Damien Guillou. Le marin au bateau jaune et bleu avait défié l’option ouest dès le coup de baston. Mauvaise pioche, le voilà de retour dans les alizés en queue de peloton. Cette nuit, Damien devrait donc se recaler au sein de la flotte, devant Simon, derrière Corentin, entre les deux… Mystère et boule de gomme. En attendant les deux bizuths ont décidé d’attaquer pour gagner en vitesse et tenter de laisser Damien dans leur tableau arrière.

'Nous devrions nous croiser ce soir vers minuit. Cela semble un peu plié pour être devant, donc si on peut clore le débat des mecs de derrière ce serait bien,' avouait Simon Troël à la vacation ce matin. Mais la messe est loin d’être dite. Bâbord amures en ce moment, Damien va bientôt empanner pour se retrouver sur le même bord que les autres marins. Reste à savoir quand…

En tête de flotte, pas de changement au classement général. Erwan Tabarly file à 9 nœuds sur une trajectoire plus sud que son rival Gildas Morvan (Cercle Vert). Le jeu consiste maintenant à suivre les bascules de vent pour rester en vitesse de pointe sur la route la plus directe possible. Fabien Delahaye (Skipper Macif 2012) l’expliquait bien ce matin : 'Dans les adonnantes, on est 10° au dessus de la route et dans les refus on est 20/30° dessous. Il faut essayer de suivre les bascules, de re-régler pour accélérer et ne pas trop s’écarter de la route. C’est du réglage plus que du décalage.'

Les conditions de navigation, de l’avis de tous, sont franchement agréables. On a sorti l’attirail d’été : crème solaire, lunettes et chapeau de rigueur pendant les longues heures de barre. Les vieux briscards en tête de flotte connaissent la routine des alizés, les bizuths découvrent la solitude et le vertige de la haute mer. 'Je me dis que c’est une transat, ma première, les mecs devant ils en ont déjà faites. C’est un truc particulier dont je ne me rendais pas compte avant le départ. C’est la première fois de ma vie que je n’ai pas de bouée, il y a un moment, je ne savais plus trop ce qu’il fallait faire, c’est vaste devant l’étrave!», confiait Corentin Horeau. Les transats forment la jeunesse…

Yoann Richomme (DLBC - Module Création): 'J’ai été à la barre tout le temps, j’ai fait un bon petit break sur Adrien (Hardy) donc je suis content. Là, j’avais vu une période d’attaque donc je ne sais pas si cela se reproduira mais cette nuit j’ai barré. Je vais me reposer aujourd’hui mais il ne faudra pas faire ça tous les jours. Des nuages sont arrivés en fin de nuit, nous n’avons pas eu de grain pour le moment, ni même un début de formation. Il n’y a pas de soleil ce matin. Je voulais me repositionner de façon avantageuse par rapport à Adrien et Anthony (Marchand). Je vais vite, j’essaie de protéger ma quatrième place au maximum. J’essaie d’estimer quels sont les choix de mes concurrents.'

Adrien Hardy (Agir Recouvrement) – 'J’ai passé une bonne nuit, avec des conditions de vent, on a pu se reposer, ce n’était pas trop mal. J’ai perdu quelques milles sur Yoann. C’est un boulot de patience parce qu’on a encore beaucoup de jours avant l’arrivée. Il y a 15 milles à rattraper, ça ne se fait pas comme ça. Hier matin, j’avais gagné un peu, l’après-midi j’étais fatigué donc j’ai passé 2/3 h à me reposer sans barrer. On voit vraiment sur les classements que quand on barre on gagne et quand on se repose on perd toujours un peu. J’ai glissé un peu par rapport à Yoann, on a des angles un peu différents. Les heures vont se ressembler, le vent va être un peu plus faible, globalement pareil avec des variations d’alizés.'

Anthony Marchand (Bretagne - Crédit Mutuel Performance) – 'J’essaye de me positionner plus pour la fin de course. Sur la cartographie, ça donne l’impression d’avoir payé comme option mais dans la logique j’ai un peu moins de vent et un angle de vent moins bon. Par contre, je suis sur la route directe. Si ça paye, ce sera sur la fin, proche des Antilles. Le vent passe de 11 à 20 nœuds. Je n’ai pas trop barré cette nuit contrairement aux deux dernières. Cette nuit le pilote a bien géré, je le réglais, je me suis reposé. J’ai un poisson qui n’est pas passé loin de ma tête, il m’a tapé l’épaule, il y a un peu de poissons volants mais pas de cargo.'

Fabien Delahaye (Skipper Macif 2012) – 'On a un très long bord en tribord où il faut s’appliquer en conduite vers Fort-de-France. Le vent va rentrer plus fort d’ici 4 jours. Là, on va commencer à jouer un peu plus sur les empannages, avec plus d’ouverture. Mais ça fait quand même de la distance à rattraper.

On est sur du très bon rapprochement tribord; dans les adonnantes on est 10° au dessus de la route et dans les refus on est 20/30° dessous. Il faut essayer de suivre les bascules, de re-régler pour accélérer et pas trop s’écarter de la route. C’est du réglage plus que du décalage.'

Arnaud Godart Philippe (Régates Sénonaises) – 'Je suis sous spi. Je suis en bâbord, je suis sous un petit nuage. Je suis placé correctement, j’ai du vent. Je pense que je vais garder un peu de jeu car recaler dans le sud ça va faire une course de chevaux de bois. Je vais garder la médiane en essayant de revenir un peu sur le paquet. Quand je suis trop longtemps à la barre, j’ai mal à la côte. J’arrive à bien faire marcher le bateau sous pilote donc je suis content. Hier, j’avais mal après la cession anticyclone car j’ai pas mal barré. Je suis moins content de m’être pris les pieds dans le tapis hier.'
