The Beneteau First 36.7 North American Championship 2013 has already started accepting entries for the event scheduled for September 5-8, 2013 and hosted at the Belmont Station of Chicago Yacht Club (CYC). The Notice of Race (NOR) and registration instructions are located at YachtScoring.

The entry fee includes dockage during the event and access to all parties for the skipper and up to eight crew members. Be sure to get your entry in early as there are incentives for early registration!

Registration and weigh-in begins Tuesday, September 3 and go through Wednesday, September 4, with an optional practice race also scheduled for Wednesday, September 4. The First 36.7 NAC racing will occur Thursday September 5 through Sunday September 8, 2013.

2013 marks the 12th annual Championship of the North American class which bills itself as the fastest growing offshore one-design class in North America. The NAC was last in Chicago in 2008 , this is the third time the traveling championship has been hosted by the Chicago fleet. The Lake Michigan fleet is the largest and most active 36.7 fleet in North America. Home to to over 20 members, The fleet has one-design starts in all major regattas including the Chicago NOOD Regatta, Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac and Verve Cup.

About the Beneteau First 36.7 North American Championship

     
The North American Championship crowns the top boat for the First 36.7 One-Design Class. It is a traveling championship that is awarded by the host fleet annually. With fleets in major sailing areas across North America, host fleets have included Long Island, Chesapeake Bay, Lake Erie, Detroit and So Cal in previous years. The NAC’s provide a fitting climax to an active season of racing for the fleets and provide the season’s most intense sailing. The winner receives the traveling trophy to display at their home or yacht club for the year.
