Cruise for a Cure shaping up to be the best yet
|
It’s not often that boat owners get to give something back to those less fortunate. So, SBM Maritimo Sydney is once again holding their epic Cruise for a Cure on Sunday February 24th. This is the one day of the year when children battling cancer get to come aboard some of Sydney’s finest power boats and yachts, and cruise around some of the most spectacular waterways in the world. The children can choose to do whatever they like. For some it may be the opportunity to catch a fish, for others the chance to cruise to a secluded bay and discover another side of Sydney, middle harbour or Pittwater at sea level. Or maybe it’s the experience of just sailing on Sydney harbour around the harbour bridge and opera house, this is the one day when dreams can come true. Yet from the feedback that dealer principle Steve Batton receives, the many skippers participating get as much of a buzz from the event as the children themselves. For such an exciting occasion, the media have typically lent their support and this year’s Cruise for a Cure promises to be no different. Whether it be the crew from Channel 9’s weekend Today Show, or the boating media at large, the event attracts widespread interest.
