Melbourne's tall ship Enterprize left its home port in Melbourne's Docklands on 30 January for an eight day ocean voyage to Hobart where the ship will be one of the featured boats in the 2013 My State Australian Wooden Boat Festival which runs from 8th-11th February.

Enterprize has sailed across Bass Strait, down the East Coast of Tasmania, and up the Derwent River to Hobart with a sailing Master, a crew of seven, and eight passengers. Along the way the ship anchored and had passengers taken ashore at at Killiercrankie Bay at the top of King Island and at Riedle Bay, part of the Maria Island National Park. On Thursday seventh Enterprize anchors overnight off Kettering and Bruny Island with a number of other tall ships, including Tasmania's Windeward Bound, Lady Nelson, and Julie Burgess. On Friday these tall ships will venture up the the scenic D'Entrecasteaux Channel to the John Garrow Light to join with the Sydney Historic fleet's tall ship James Craig and a flotilla of boats for the spectacular lunchtime Festival Opening Parade of Sail into Hobart.

Enterprize is one of the featured sailing vessels at the 2013 Australian Wooden Boats Festival. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday of the festival Enterprize will have a series of one hour sails and early evening cruises departing from Elizabeth Street Pier, in the heart of the waterfront precinct where the festival will be based. This will include the Monday afternoon Farewell Parade of Sail and a Monday evening Fireworks Sail. All sails are suitable for people of all ages. Between sails the ship will be open for public inspection, and purchase of trip tickets.

Further information on Enterprize's program at the Wooden Boats Festival and its all year round program is available on www.enterprize.org.au.
