Sail Mandurah Regatta 2013 is expected to have a crowded event in March. Organisers are delighted with the entry levels for the inaugural event at the end of the 'early bird' entry period. The new regatta, to be held on the March long weekend, 2-4 March 2013, offers family-friendly fun on Mandurah’s dazzling sailing waters.

Five entries have been received so far for the Cruising with Spinnaker division, including four Dufour yachts that will be contesting the first ever WA Dufour Muster. A further three yachts have entered the Jib and Main division, including the beautifully restored 1929 International 9-Metre Acrospire IV. Multi-hull ranks are looking a little thin with only two entries received, but a number of other prospects have expressed interest.

Six Sports Boats have entered so far for the ASBA Western Australian State Championships, and a rush of late entries is expected for this popular event, which is being conducted in conjunction with the Sail Mandurah in March regatta. The immaculate Thompson 750 The Duck’s Nuts is back to defend the title it won last year, and competition between the Shaw 650s Octopussy and Shaw Thing will be a highlight. The Fifth Seven, One Goat and Excitabull complete the early bird entry list.

The Solings will also be contesting their State Championships, with the local Mandurah Soling fleet likely to make up the bulk of entries. At the end of the early bird entry period, Stop Making Sense, Mad Dora and Knotted had joined the entry list and will go into the draw, along with all the early entries, for the Musto crew bag prize.
