The Auto Advantage Newcastle to Port Stephens Yacht Race 2013 is already open for entries, expecting more than 30 sportboats competing in one of the fastest growing regatta in Australia on April 14.
As part of the annual pilgrimage North to Sail Port Stephens Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club will once again be welcoming yachts to the Club competing in the Pittwater to Newcastle Race on 13 April 2013 and sending the fleet off on 14 April 2013 in the Auto Advantage Newcastle to Port Stephens Yacht Race.
With growth in number year on year NCYC is hoping to have 30 plus yachts on the start line in 2013, hopefully with a bit more wind than last year! Regardless, some amendments to the Sailing Instructions have been made to allow for a ‘Rolling Start’ in Stockton Bight if required as well as a shortened course of Point Stephens if the weather gods and Port Stephens tides don’t play ball.
With free berthing for visiting yachts on the Saturday night in NCYC’s marina, good old NCYC hospitality guaranteed and the athletic NCYC ‘rum runners’ already in training to meet the yachts at the Dock with their customary welcoming small 'tot' the weekend should be a great event.
