Australian Sabre Championship 2013 - Smooth sailing on Moreton Bay
'Race 7 Sabre Aust Chps RQYS WaterlooBay'
Mike Kenyon
At the Australian Sabre Championship, a good fleet of 59 boats welcomed the starter gun. Racing was tight throughout the series. Conditions were moderate, with one day blowing out and another race day curtailed after winds were gusting in the earlier race to 33 knots.
With three marks to go in the final race, four boats were still in contention to winning the title.
The attention now is drawn to Perth for the first time to be held in Western Australia at Perth Dinghy Sailing Club on the Swan River - from the 29th December 2013 through to 4th January 2014. A large fleet is expected for the event.
