AEG 3 Buoy Handicap Heat 7 - Rough start for Lumix + Video
|
Heat 7 of the AEG 3 Buoy Handicap for 18 Footers on Sydney Harbour yesterday was won by Lumix of Jono Whitty, Archie Massey, and James Hozak. Whitty had to overcome a shaky start when Lumix capsized on the first beat to the 3 Buoys located in the mouth of Double Bay. The race was sailed in a patchy up and down pressure ,10 to 14 knt South Easter. which made it difficult for the crews to pick a side to attack from. Coopers Rag & Famish sailed across the finish line in second, only to not receive a horn for their efforts due to an OCS ruling by the Starter, Mr Linnacre. This outcome brought Asko, Marcus Ashley-Jones, Ash Rooklyn, and Geronimo Harrison into second on the Podium. Asko finished in first, in Heat 6 of the AEG a week earlier, and DeLonghi Rabbitohs, Simon Nearn, Keegan York, and James Smithers, moved into third yesterday, to give them two Podium positions in two weeks also. Tom Clout, Rob Bell and Matt Wark on Pure Blonde lead the AEG Series after 7 races and going into next Sundays eighth and final race to see who will be the Winners of the majority of the $10,000 cash. Pick the Podium .....Congratulations Marilyn Preston who came out of the hat yesterday to take the cool www.barzoptics.com San Juan Floater sunnies and the Bragging Rights for this week.
