At the World Yacht Racing Forum 2012, due to take place just four weeks from now on 11-12 December in Gothenburg, Sweden, top class speakers will discuss the latest trends and challenges in the business of yacht racing and what the future holds for an industry full of passion.

Panels at the World Yacht Racing Forum will include:

- Outside of Sponsorship How Can Sailing Generate Income From Different Revenue Streams?
Marijn Harink from United Games, Marc Blees from Gaastra, Dominique Curchod from Curchod Communications and Richard Moore of Capitalize join this panel to discuss the various revenue streams open to sailing including games, apps, ticket revenue, merchandising and television/live streaming.

- What is the Most effective Way to Promote the Sport of Sailing?
Uli Lacher from IFM Sports Group, Richard Brisius from Atlant Ocean Racing and Mark Turner from OC Sport join this panel to consider yacht racings target audience, who is responsible for promoting the sport? Are numbers or engagement the key? What is the secret of a good sailing event for the audience?

- What is the Future of Yacht Racing?
Five years on from the first WYRF we look at the predictions made in 2008 and consider which ones proved accurate. We also look at whether entertainment is costing the industry its sporting ethic, is one design going to be increasingly the way forward in the current economic environment and how does sailing capitalize on the developing markets. Joining this panel are Knut Frostad from Volvo Ocean Race, Mark Turner from OC Sport, Pat Shaughnessy from Farr Design, Ben Ainslie…and more!

- Why do Cities Want Sailing Events?
Simon Howell from Cardiff Harbour Authority, Gwyn Brown from The Tall Ships Race and Axel Bauerdorf from Kiel Sailing City join others to discuss the benefits and returns for cities hosting sailing events. Do successful city venues need to have public sector investment? Has hosting events led to sustainable benefits?
