Fusion®, a worldwide leader in marine and car audio, announced today that its Fusion-Link audio access system is now supported by Garmin GPSmap 6000 and 7000 series displays, with additional models being added in 2013.

Providing the ability to control all Fusion 700 Series Marine Entertainment System capabilities and functions directly from a GPSmap multi-function display (MFD), Fusion-link makes it easy for Garmin owners to enjoy their onboard audio and video entertainment. The only ‘True Marine’ entertainment solutions on the market, Fusion stereos offer Garmin owners unparalleled reliability and performance, and multi-zone audio configuration specific to their vessels.

'With its new Fusion-Link integration, Garmin GPSmap owners have access to the best, award-winning marine audio at their fingertips,' said Chris Baird, CEO, Fusion Electronics. 'We are pleased by the results of our Fusion-Link partnership with Garmin and know their customers will truly appreciate the new functionality!'

Fusion-Link allows boaters to navigate all stereo sources, and provides full control of iPod/iPhone music libraries via track, artist, album or playlist with the same ease-of-use and familiar control as on the 700 Series itself. Boaters can control the individual audio zones of a vessel separately or together, including control of the subwoofer level in each zone. Bass, midrange and treble levels are also adjustable.

Fusion-Link uses a boats NMEA 2000 network to connect supported Garmin devices to the 700 Series stereo. An N2KConn or MS-N2KStart kit is required for installation, and sold separately.

'Garmin customers make the most of their time on the water and Fusion-Link audio control makes it easy to control the soundtrack of their boating adventures,' said Al Sundoro, senior director, Garmin Marine Segment. 'We are impressed with the capabilities of Fusion-Link and the deep level of product integration we were able to achieve in working with their development team. This integration is an ideal complement for our leading multifunction systems.'

Available in 2013, Fusion-Link will be compatible with Garmin 6000 and 7000 series MFDs, with expansion throughout the Garmin product range to follow.
