Going into the final RNZYS Winter Series race with only three points between the leading four Div A boats Charmonet needed a good result to retain her series lead.
PredictWinds forecast was on target in delivering a blustery 30 - 40 knots for this final race and all foredeck crew donned lifejackets for the ride ahead. However with a reef carried until the run up the harbour, things didn’t go quite according to plan.
Final results: Second - Gen Hcap, First – PHRF, 10th – Line, injured skipper, broken window, blown Gennaker, lost watch.
