Spring into Twilight Sailing at Middle Harbour Yacht Club

'Twilight Sailing at Middle Harbour Yacht Club - Twilight Sailing at Middle Harbour Yacht Club'    MHYC MHYC
With Spring almost upon us, Middle Harbour Yacht Club (MHYC) is excited to announce dates for Twilight Sailing in 2012-13 with Twilight racing taking place at the Club on both Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Clubs Wild Oats Thursday Twilight Non-Spinnaker Series will commence with a skippers briefing and opening drinks on Thursday 4 October from 6.30pm, with the first race of the series scheduled for the following Thursday 11 October.

Nothing beats the social atmosphere and enjoyment of MHYC Thursday Twilight Sailing on Sydney Harbour. Enjoy the famous post race BBQ and entertainment on the beach after racing, plus weekly prize presentations from series sponsor Wild Oats Wines. Crewing opportunities are available for sailors of all abilities – from complete novices to professionals; the Club will match you up with a suitable yacht and crew.

Come rain, hail or shine, the Wild Oats Thursday Twilight Non-Spinnaker Series is the perfect way to end your working day. Racing is on the waters of Middle Harbour and Sydney Harbour. Club House start and finish starting from 6pm with course lengths especially tailored to prevailing wind and light conditions. The series will comprise 22 races from October through to March.

Bausele watches are also supporting the 2012-13 Wild Oats Thursday Twilight Series with one of their yachting watches from the Bausele range up for grabs for first place in each Division at the end of the series.

MHYC is also introducing a Social Tuesday Twilights Series commencing Tuesday 6 November - another great opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy the beauty of Twilight sailing on Sydney’s spectacular harbour.

Social Tuesdays Twilights will be all about relaxed social sailing – this is a non pointscore series which will run race by race with a smaller fleet of yachts across a condensed season of 15 races. Pre and post race socialising will centre around the beach BBQ and Sandbar. This series will feature simple handicaps and also include a Ladies Skipper Division along with weekly prizes. Season or individual race entries are available allowing you to join in this social racing experience whenever you’re able.

You don’t have to wait all week for your Twilight ‘fix’ on Thursdays – you can now enjoy Twilight racing twice a week and get out on the water on Tuesdays with either your Thursday Twilight crew or a social Tuesday crew.

Social Tuesday Twilight Series entry fees:
Series entry - $136 (MHYC Members if entered for Thursday series)
Series entry - $405 (MHYC Members if not entered for Thursday series)
Series entry - $675 (Non Members)
Casual race entry - $45

Thursday Twilight Series entry fees:
Series entry - $663.30 (MHYC Members)
Series entry - $990 (Non Members)
Casual race entry - $45

To enter the Twilight Series contact the Sailing Office on 9969 1244 or visit www.mhyc.com.au

To allow new members the opportunity to enjoy Twilight racing in 2012-13, MHYC is offering a special Twilight Membership for just $274 (includes YA fee and waives the joining fee of $110) allowing you to sail in both the Tuesday and Thursday Twilight series throughout the season.

For information on this Twilight Membership offer contact Pip Lodder on 9969 1244 or pip(at)mhyc.com.au

MHYC looks forward to welcoming everyone to Twilight Racing in 2012-13.
