Changed traffic conditions on Spit Bridge announced
|
Motorists and skippers are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Spit Bridge in Middle Harbour from 12 August for testing of the newly upgraded bridge span lift system. Additional openings are scheduled for Sundays 12 and 19 August and Sunday 2 September between 11.30pm and 5am. This means motorists, pedestrians and cyclists wishing to cross Spit Bridge could be delayed for up to 15 minutes during the testing on these dates. If emergency vehicle access is required, testing will be postponed. Electronic message signs will be in place at either end of the bridge to provide advanced warning of planned testing times. Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and obey all signs. For traffic information contact the Transport Management Centre on 132 701, or visit the live traffic website.
