Day two of racing in the Delta Lloyd Regatta tested sailor's fitness and the equipment. Wind averaging 25 knots and peaking at 30 throughout the day, made for physical racing. Only the Nacra and the 49er FX were cancelled. The Finn and Laser radial were the first to hit the water in the morning, followed by the RS:X men and women.

At the 2013 Finn World Masters in La Rochelle, it was moving day, the day everything changes, the day between the beginning and the end. There were lots of changes at the top with several favourites racking up high scores after the only race sailed. Michael Maier (CZE) sailed a flawless race to claim his second race win and take the overall lead.

The Combined Access Class 2013 European Championships, held from from seventh to 12th May, have just concluded on Lake Constance in Switzerland. Yacht Club Arbon hosted the event in cooperation with Sailability Switzerland. Seventy one entries from twelve nations competed in the Access 2.3, 303, Liberty and SKUD 18 classes.

GryphonSolo2 finished leg one of the 2013 Atlantic Cup at around 11:00pm in New York City last night. It was very cool to come bombing in from offshore in a 25 knot breeze behind us and doing 15 right into Ambrose channel and the shipping lanes of one of the world's busiest ports!

The final day of competition at the MINI Kiteboard World Cup on the Riviera Nayarit had great conditions. The thermal wind picked up to about 15 knots and two races were run. The first race was won by Bryan Lake and Julien Kerneur won the second race. On the women side, Smunty won the first race and Arroyo won the second race.

Organizers for the 2013 Adria Ferries ORC International World Championship have published the list of entries that are set to take part in the event held in Ancona, Italy over 21-29 June 2013. To maintain the highest possible standards for the event, organizers have put limits on the number of entries eligible to race, so there are now 100 confirmed entries and 22 yachts on the waiting list.

Mike Gascoyne will be joining the eight teams already preparing for the start. America's Cup organisers, Golden Gate Yacht Club, have appointed a six-strong team to investigate and report on the facts of the Artemis incident, last Thursday, and to recommend on safety issues for the event.
The group is working in conjunction with the US Coast Guard who must issue SLR's (Special Local Regulations) for the event to proceed.

As the club heads into its 25th presentation of Block Island Race Week, no less than seven classes have coordinated major championships to be held in conjunction with the event, and now over 180 teams have registered.

The 2013 Kieler Woche will take place 22-30 June with victory and medal ranks being decided on the very last race day when the top six athletes race against each other in the finals. The 2013 SLAM Mid Winters West Regatta, the first of two major Etchells events on the west coast this Spring was held over the Easter Weekend. Point Loma Outfitting, owned by Fleet 13's own Tom Carruthers, proudly sponsored the three day regatta which attracted some of the best One Design racers on the left coast.

The sailing world is very much in shock following the death of British Olympic Gold and Silver medallist and America's Cup strategist Andrew 'Bart' Simpson trapped under water after the capsize of the Swedish AC72 Artemis on San Francisco Bay last Thursday. Helmsman Nathan Outteridge has issued a statement saying that quotes attributed to his father were not accurate.
