[QUOTE=Peaky]
I heard from a mate in the club bar that Northampton Sailboats are going to sell the Laser EPS with a 12m kite added to it.
I guess you chop a hole in the foredeck for the kite and another in the cockpit for it to exit. Does an EPS have an x frame? If so would it get in the way of the kite tube? Maybe bag launch/recover would make things a bit more challenging esp 12m. |

That is an uncanny likness ... Grumpfs have you considered one of these? No kite/trapeze but ticks all the other boxes http://www.ovingtonboats.com/page.solution

Wish I had that much hair... No idea where the stars come from although I have bought a couple of Y&Y zinios recently.. Yes I had considered the solution, just couldn't figure where the kite would go, I think it looks a classic boat, but probably dull to use. It's difficult, I still race boards quite hard with all the excitement to be had there and only the addition of a spinnaker and the trapezing thereof to my mind exceeds that excitement (probably because its new and I haven't managed to master it yet.) And sitting down has produced new forms of pain I'm not entirely comfortable with, standing up is less stressful, especially on ageing joints. |

What about a Dart 15/Sprint 15? Very beach friendly, a trapeze and fast even without a kite (PY very similar to the Asbo). Unbeatable in a force 6. And they only take up as much space as a dinghy in the boat park.

RS 600 FF?
I'm sure once you've got it foiling a couple of feet above the water the last thing on your mind will be 'I wish it had a Kite'! Possibly an issue to be had with running it up the beach though. |

OK, so allow me to introduce you to "Twa.tamaran" AKA Mark from Stark
who spends most of his days either inverted inrescue boat or inbar His latest attempt at not ruining our racing by totally hogging the rescue boat is illustrated below.. It didn't work, he's back at the drawing board.. One day we'll explain why our sea doesn't much care for Cats either but for now the entertainment value is still greater than his musical one man 70's drag act...Or it might be Glam Rock it's kind of difficult to tell with the long blonde wig, by rights he should sail at Whitstable.. You could of course just change clubs where you dont have to run your boat up the beach. then you wouldnt need a one off boat for you to race and in a force 6 cant really see you doing a reach with an assy kite up personally more like a dead run almost |
