Cool, and that suggests the PN is about right too :) |

The Farr looks to be sailing off a PY of 1060. Dave tends to sail the Farr when the breeze is up and there is only one Farr. So, any judgement on whether 1060 is right or not, is educated guess work. |

True but that's how it is with any small class PN I guess. If he's good, and getting top 5 results, it's not a million miles away and gives an indication of how fast the 3.7 is in real life.

Dave is also light as well. The Farr looks a great boat and certainly fits in well in round-the-cans PY racing. |

Strange isn't it. Back in the 60s when people started taking jibs off strops and dropping them down to foredeck level to make an endplate the performance advantages were so obvious that just about every class changed over within a very short space of time. But now the lesson gets forgotten, and people build boats without foredecks - and never mind the structural advantages.

Even I14s have foredecks these days when, historically, the seats and tanks had to be at least, IIRC, 4" below the level of the gunnels.....
I don't suppose it matters if they're all the same though...... That thing looks interesting, it appears to have a wooden mast (and boom?) and two mast positions, presumably for sailing singlehanded with just the mainsail.
