2014 Festival of Sails

Geelong
Thu, 23 Jan 2014 to Mon, 27 Jan 2014

The Festival of Sails is Victoria’s oldest ongoing sporting event, and the largest annual keel boat regatta in the Southern Hemisphere. Annually, the event attracts not only huge numbers of yachts carrying over 4,500 sailors, but also provides a brilliant Shoreside Festival for all the family to enjoy.

The 2014 event will not disappoint with numerous race series catering to the highest performance Grand Prix racers through to Trailable cruisers. And in January 2014, the Festival of Sails is extremely privileged to be hosting the Melges 24 World Championship.

Geelong comes alive over the Australia Day Long Weekend as over 100,000 people flock to the picturesque Geelong Waterfront to take part in the excitement. With stage and roving entertainers; live music; art and craft market stalls; a family friendly kids’ zone; gourmet food and wine; on and off-water come & try activities; fireworks; a dedicated marine trade and boating lifestyle exhibition and much more, the Festival of Sails is an event not to be missed for you and your family.
