NSW Primary Industries Minister, Katrina Hodgkinson, stated that the Great Hammerhead Shark has been listed as a Vulnerable Species and the Scalloped Hammerhead Shark as an Endangered Species in NSW. NSW Maritime bureaucracies have put out an Issues Paper for Public Consultation which could potentially forbid anchoring in these two bays in order to protect the sea grass in the bays.
