Product of the Week: V-Lock, securing gear, but only when needed.

'Camera on a V-Lock' .

Being able to secure an item when using it in or around the cockpit is a frequent requirement for the cruising sailor. Whether it be a piece of maintenance equipment, a barbecue, a camera or just the beer, there are many times, in the moving environment of the ocean or bay that a secure attachment would be a boon. But the key is: you don't want it there all the time! V-Lock have come up with this natty invention as Product of the Week.

You can use and stow most of your equipment and accessories virtually anywhere on board with the V-Lock Universal Mounting System from Larand Products.

Attach a V-Lock base in a logical convenient location around a boat, then mount accessories to a V-Lock insert. Use any accessory where there's a V-Lock base. Use equipment where it's needed, with the ability to quickly and easily move it or remove it when not in use.

**One should of course choose a place to attach such a device where it will NOT be in the way of crew when sailing - see photo.

How it works:
There are two components to the V-Lock system; the base and the insert.

Start by first attaching a V-Lock base in a logical convenient location around your boat, then mount each of your accessories to a V-Lock insert. Now you can use any accessory where you have a V-Lock base.

The base is simple, strong and extremely versatile, and can accommodate just about any marine accessory imaginable. It's made of marine grade aluminum and anodized for clean satin finish and corrosion resistance.

It means you can use your equipment where you need it with the ability to quickly and easily move it or remove it when not in use, meaning that it is only exposed to the elements when you are using it.

And, the good thing is, the V-Lock system does NOT limit you to accessories designed specifically for the V-Lock. You decide on the accessories you need so if you already have the gear you can just adapt it to the V-Lock system.
