The countdown has begun to Australia's largest Boat Show, the Sydney International Boat Show at Sydney's glamorous Darling Harbour 28 July t 1st August. If you're interested in anything to do with boats, now's your chance to plan to be there. Not only will there be over 1000 boats on show, the Better Boating Stage will have a line-up of yachting stars, your favourite sailing authors will be there signing their books - and NOW is the time to act on the Photography Competition, closing 8th July.

Photography competition:
Fishing, sailing, water skiing or just cruising around. What’s your passion?
Once again you can share your passion at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show in the form of a photography competition. Now in its third year, a photography competition is being held in conjunction with the show. What started as a ‘once off’ idea has turned into a very popular activity at the show with the photos on display.

The competition rules are simple; anyone can enter an image or images following the theme of:
'My favourite recreational boating moment or scene'.

Two prizes will be awarded: The first selected by James Ostinga, Editor of Digital Photography and Design and well-known photographer Andrea Francolini.

The second will be a ‘people’s choice’ award with visitors to the show having the opportunity to select their favourite image.

Each prize winner will win a $500 gift voucher from Digital Camera Warehouse.

The best entries will be on display at the show in Darling Harbour from July 28 to August 1.

This is not about professional photographers; this is about everyone having an opportunity to put their best shot forward.
Entry is simple and free. Visit the shows web site, www.sydneyboatshow.com.au for details on how to enter.

Entries close on Friday 8 July. Don't delay, start snapping today and be in the running to have your favourite images on display at the Boat Show!

Don't fancy yourself as a photographer? Then come along to the boat show and view the photographs of the competition finalists. You will have the opportunity to cast your vote for the 'People's Choice' Award and go into the draw to win a $200 Sturrocks voucher!

As for the rest of the show, you will see:
• 270 exhibitors
• Over 200 boats on the purpose built marina
• Over 900 boats in the exhibition halls

Plus your ticket will get you access to:
• The Better Boating Lounge, with non-stop sailing information and entertainment all day
• A free 50 minute harbour tour
• Live cooking demonstrations from Club Marine's Bart Beek
• See the latest in boating apparel at the Musto Fashion Extravaganza – Have you danced with Musto?
• Get all the latest information to ensure your time out on the water remains safe and fun at the Marine Precinct Boating Education Centre
• Check out some of our history at the Historic Boats Walk of Fame
