Nautor’s Swan saw a record entry this year for the eighth edition of their ‘ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous’ held in the beautiful British Virgin Islands from March 14 – 19. For the 2011 cruising event 26 Swan yachts attended with over 100 participants enjoying the delights of the Caribbean.

The ClubSwan Rendezvous programme is designed to offer structured cruising and social occasions organised by Nautor’s Swan with the option of low key racing in some of the world’s most sought after sailing locations. The Caribbean element to the Rendezvous suits those intent on enjoying local island hospitality mixed with Swan cruising organisation taking the fleet to a range of island stopovers.

This year the cruising route started at Bitter End Yacht Club and took in Virgin Gorda, Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke and Marina Cay in 6 days of comfortable activity.

The ClubSwan Rendezvouses are an ideal way to cruise top global yachting destinations with families and friends as part of the crew. In addition there are ample opportunities to meet fellow Swan sailors during relaxed shore side social events including; wine tasting, waterside dinners and awards ceremonies.

The highly coveted ‘Spirit of Swan Award’ was presented by Nautor’s Swan, Board Members, Berndt Brunow and Sir Anthony Greener to the crew of Swan 66, Godot from Norway, who sailed the week including children amongst their crew with a wonderful philosophy of ‘fun with competitive spirit’.

The award for ‘Best Boat’ was given to Twanette Tharp’s, Swan 62, Glisse, following an intensive judging session.

The 2011 ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous was another successful event for the Nautor’s Swan Rendezvous Programme with a complete commitment to enjoyment by both participants and organisers.

A full mix of fun racing and socialising with old and new Swan family friends in warmth of the Caribbean sun and sea made 2011 the perfect Caribbean Rendezvous year.
