Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta 2013 - Entry date extended

A final call for entries has come from the organisers The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club for the Club Marine Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta 2013. With the entry date extended Competitors will have until 5pm next Friday, 15 December, to get their entry in without incurring a late fee. This will give anyone contemplating entering the race one last chance to enjoy a fantastic regatta.

With 38 boats entered for the regatta to date, a competitive fleet has assembled representing 11 different yacht clubs on the eastern seaboard. There are no fewer than 14 boats doing the regatta for the first time.

The latest entry to join the Coffs race fleet is arguably Australia’s most successful offshore TP52 Ragamuffin, owned and skippered by legendary America's Cup, Admiral's Cup and offshore sailor Syd Fischer, OBE. Ragamuffin recently went through major modifications before last year’s Sydney to Hobart, in which they placed third IRC overall and first ORCi overall.

The five race regatta kicks off with the Club Marine Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Race on 2 January at 1pm followed by two sprint and two 20nm offshore races in Coffs Harbour on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 January to round out the regatta. The Club Marine Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta offers IRC, ORCi, PHS and shorthanded Divisions and also plays host to the Australian Performance Handicap (PHS) Championships with 31 entries opting to race in the championships.

The host Club, the RPAYC has got support from RPAYC Club volunteers to act as ambassadors for visiting yachts when they arrive to berth their yacht for the Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Regatta. An ambassador will be assigned to each visiting yacht to greet them on their arrival to the RPAYC marina and escort them to the Club and show them around.

Richard Hudson, Chair of the Coffs Organising Committee said, 'We’re pleased to keep the entries open for another week, we have one of the most competitive fleets in years and want to leave the door open to invite others contemplating entering the opportunity to do so. We have some great social activities planned in Coffs for crews to enjoy themselves so we welcome anyone considering the regatta, to get their entry in.'
