L'événement voile de l'automne - TeamWork Geneva Match Race

Du 24 au 27 octobre prochains, la Société Nautique de Genève accueillera le TeamWork Geneva Match Race. Huit skippers ont été invités pour naviguer en duels dans la rade de Genève, parmi lesquels des navigateurs classés parmi les meilleurs mondiaux, qui affronteront des équipes locales. Sur des bateaux strictement identiques, les Surprise, seule la stratégie et le talent des équipes désigneront le vainqueur.

Le Cercle de la Voile de la Société Nautique de Genève organise le TeamWork Geneva Match Race, en collaboration avec l’entreprise TeamWork et le Centre d’Entraînement à la Régate (CER). Pour la onzième édition de la compétition, les organisateurs ont invité huit skippers de renommée internationale du 24 au 27 octobre 2013 dans la rade de Genève.

Des jeunes marins talentueux de la région se mesureront ainsi à certains des meilleurs navigateurs de match race du monde. Cinq nationalités seront représentées à Genève : la Suisse, la France, la Finlande, le Danemark et la Grande-Bretagne.

Notons la participation de quatre skippers du TOP 20 mondial (selon le classement ISAF Open), dont les deux vainqueurs ex-aequo de l’édition 2012 : le finlandais Antti Lutha et le suisse Eric Monnin. Un équipage romand participera à l’événement : Jérôme Clerc et son équipe Realteam, champions suisses de Match Race.

Le classement des skippers qui seront au départ de cette épreuve internationale élève la compétition au Grade 2, le deuxième niveau le plus élevé du monde, une première à Genève. Sur des monocoques strictement identiques et typiquement lémaniques de type Surprise, les huit équipes s’affronteront en duels vendredi 24 et samedi 25 octobre, pour des éliminatoires appelés round robin. Les quatre meilleurs équipages se retrouveront dimanche pour les demi-finales et la grande finale.

Pour la deuxième année consécutive, l’événement peut compter sur un partenaire fidèle à la voile suisse: TeamWork, un fournisseur historique de solutions informatiques à l’attention des entreprises.

Programme
Jeudi 24 octobre : 13:00 préparation technique, pesée
Vendredi 25 octobre : 9:30 round robin
Samedi 26 octobre : 9:30 round robin
Dimanche 27 octobre : 9:30 demi finales et finales. Remise des prix dès 16 heures.
