Sail-World.com : A French Connection for the Christmas Caribbean Rally
A French Connection for the Christmas Caribbean Rally

'Antigua, chosen by Christmas Caribbean Rally 2013 as arrival point'    .

After a successful website launch, the Sailing Rallies team promoting the 2013 Christmas Caribbean Rally made its way to the Salon Nautique (International Paris Boat Show), in association with the Canary Islands tourist board, to promote the fact that the destination for the Christmas Caribbean Rally will be the popular Caribbean gateway of Antigua in the Caribbean after a stepping-off point in the Canary Islands.

The Canary Islands are enthusiastic too about the new December 2013 Rally, as the islands off the west coast of Africa are being developed as a Watersports Destination. The introduction of the Christmas Caribbean Rally (CCR), which departs from Marina Rubicon, Lanzarote, is proving a great addition to their year-round program of watersports events.

The contract with Marina Rubicon was signed at the Show and the French press really got behind the Rally, with Antigua as the destination generating a lot of interest. The general consensus was that although many French sailors head straight for the French Caribbean islands, Antigua makes an excellent arrival destination and will be a welcome alternative to Martinique or Guadeloupe.

Encouragement to register early:
Sailing Rallies has developed a good relationship with the popular UK chandlers and online marine shop, www.marinestore.co.uk, which delivers worldwide. Through this partnership they are pleased to be able to offer all CCR participants a 10% discount on any purchases, either in their four UK stores or online at any time until the end of the Rally.

Marine Store also has a well-stocked store in Marina Rubicon, allowing participants to not only make use of this discount for online purchases, but also when they are doing their last minute preparations in Marina Rubicon before their Atlantic voyage.

With less than two weeks until Christmas, just imagine how special and exciting it would be to spend Christmas at sea next year with family and friends, sharing cards, presents (and even perhaps the traditional turkey!) in the middle of the Atlantic – and then to arrive in the paradise that is Antigua for New Year celebrations. What a fantastic way for sailors to spend the festive season! Even if your boat is nowhere near the Atlantic and is not likely to be any time soon, dreaming doesn't cost anything.
