Sanctuary Cove Boat Show 2012 Day 1

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show - the MarineBusiness-World Pavilion  MarineBusiness-World.com
A sunny morning here at Sanctuary Cove, now clouding over a little but quite warm and the crowds are enjoying the day. This year's SCIBS features a world of powerboats, trailerable to superyachts.

With 325 exhibitors – 50 of them brand new to the boat show – there are more than 70 world and Australian launches.

There are major launches from European, US, UK and Australian brands, including Jeanneau, Prestige, Maritimo, Mustang, Pelorus Marine, Chaparral, Palm Beach Motor Yachts, MJM Yachts, Integrity, Clipper, Outer Reef Yachts, Fleming, Grand Banks, Alaska, Hampton, Riviera, VanDutch and more.

For movie buffs, there are two Chris Craft gems: the Silver Bullet from the Twilight film 'Breaking Dawn' – one of just 150 released - and the heritage runabout from 1950 called 'Mistral' which is identical to the one that starred in 'On Golden Pond' and is on sale for $89,000 at this year's show.

The very impressive Queensland Water Police vessel, the PV Brett T Handran is on display. The 23.35m vessel is used for training and exercises. This is the public's only chance to see an operational police vessel, which is a new member of fleet. Named in honour of a Detective who lost his life in the line of duty in 1989 in Wynnum, the PV Brett T Handran is used in search and rescue operations, including during the Brisbane floods and far north in Innisfail and Cairns during Cyclone Yasi.

From New Zealand, the internationally acclaimed yacht designer, Roger Hill presents his ground-breaking 17m power cat, Voodoo, which marks a first for the company with its trail blazing design, and is making its worldwide debut.

Chaparral Australia has 10 boats on show – the largest exhibitor by total. Bow riders on display will include the new H20 range starting at 18 feet, the 216SSi which is the current Australian family sports bow rider of the year and the 64MPH rocket ship 327SSx , the only bow rider in the world with a full beam cabin. Visitors will see Chaparral's awesome 244 Xtreme saltwater wake boat, and the world's newest 33 sports cruiser that he says 'rewrites the book on elegance, design and performance'.

See you at Sanctuary Cove!!!
