Major coup for Aussie Boatbuilder, SCIBS, GC Cruise Terminal truthsBreaking news - A major coup for an Australian Boat builder. Australasian Laser dinghy builder Performance Sailcraft has secured world rights to the Byte CII dinghy being built in plants around the world. We have the full story here now.

This week, as well as the hype and hard work that precedes a major boat show like Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, we cover some pressing industry issues, including demystifying 2-stroke, thanks to information and insight from industry body OEDA, comments on the realities of building a Cruise Terminal on the Gold Coast and an exciting update on the lineup of stars, sailing and sporting, heading to Audi Hamilton Island Race Week August 17-25.
Dr Andrew Roland, spokesman for Recfishwest, has provided an opinion piece exclusively for MarineBusiness-World.com and FishingBoating-World.com, countering some of the flimsy arguments for marine parks in the west - some of those put forward by Ian Keirnan whose headlining articles have appeared in national and state-wide newspapers and online.
He says, logically, that while Recfishwest will support the introduction of marine protected areas provided there is scientific evidence to demonstrate these will offer necessary protection, they do not like to see recreational fishing families locked out of areas where they pose no threats.
'These are complex instruments with fundamental differences whether applied for biodiversity conservation or fisheries management. When used for biodiversity conservation, they must be based on proper ecological research. In contrast, when applied as a fisheries management tool they must take a triple bottom line approach considerate of ecological, social and economic issues as well as existing fisheries management.'
Also on the horizon in two months time, the London Olympic Games. Sail-World.com, the largest marine news network in the world, will have its biggest Olympic media team ever on the water in Weymouth - six very experienced sailing journalist/photographers - Richard Gladwell, Bob Fisher, Mark Chisnell, David Schmidt, Rob Kothe and Spanish and French speaking Jeraldine Kennedy, along with some highly regarded photographic contributors will all be bringing their perspective to the Sail-World coverage.
By mid-2012 the monthly unique audience across Sail-World.com's US, Canadian, UK, European, African, Asian, New Zealand and Australian sites will be bumping on 250,000 visitors and across the year there will likely be 2.5 million unique readers who are spending much more time on the Sail-World sites than audiences on other marine sites.
Sail-World's Olympic preview newsletters are already running and there will be 24 more in the series.
During the 2012 Olympic coverage Sail-World.com will send out 140,000 dedicated newsletters each day - overall a record total 3.5 million event newsletters. These will be regionalised so advertisers will get best possible exposure in their own markets.
The Weymouth regatta and Sail-World's intensive coverage provide a perfect online 2012-2013 launching pad for marine industry organisations wanting to reach the largest marine audience in their target area. Then with the start of the 2012 boat show season in Australia and NZ, now is the time to get online.
For many marine industry companies the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is the launching pad for their 2012-2013 season. MarineBusiness-World.com is the sponsor of the main pavilion at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.
It's called, not surprisingly, the MarineBusiness-World.com pavilion. If you were there last year you will have seen the 45 metre signs across the front of this 50 metre x 80 metre pavilion, which houses some 130 exhibitors.
We will have a large team at SCIBS reporting on the show in detail.

There are some very meaty pieces coming later in the week - including how you can win hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of prizes (yes, we've added them up!) at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which opens in just two weeks time!
If you're coming up to the Sunshine State, be prepared for all weather. Skies are blue at the moment, and the temperature is 25+, but the BOM predicts 'unsettled conditions' - which could mean anything!
Meantime, send us your news and views and we will do our best to cover them.Jeni Bone, editor
If you liked this newsletter, do nothing, we will send you another ..
Naa, please don't send me another.
