Cruise future for GC, Jeanneau leads SCIBS, ETNZ eye on America's CupChange of seasons, plenty of change on the horizon around the country, as marine parks in SA and WA impact on commercial fishing, recreational anglers and other segments of the seafood industry.
There's change ahead for the Gold Coast with a new Mayor joining hands with the fairly new Premier to promise revitalised marine infrastructure, as well as a $30m cruise terminal at The Spit in a bid to capitalise on the boom in cruising and prop up the region's ailing tourism and hospitality sectors.

We have reports back from Singapore about its annual superyacht conference and yacht show - brilliant by all accounts - and as the clock ticks until show time, all the latest news in the lead up to the 24th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
Jeanneau power and sail will be the largest presence on the marina at this year's event. Jeanneau Australia and the Queensland importer, Mooloolaba Yacht Brokers, will host the Australian debut of the first of the stunning new deck saloon range, the Sun Odyssey 44DS.

Pacific Motor Yachts will exhibit the powerboat range from Jeanneau, and host the Australian debut for the Jeanneau Leader 10, a 36ft sportscruiser, the NC9 and 8.5 Centre Console style, as well as the 440S sportyacht and 500 Flybridge in the Prestige range.
Our main feature this week may have everything to do with sailing at the elite level, but there is a message in there for all levels of the boating industry, and the broader community, about competiting in and hosting 'the F1 of sailing', the America's Cup.

Skipper of Emirates Team New Zealand, Dean Barker, took some time off the water in Naples to speak with me via Skype about the 2013 event and the new challenges associated with racing multi-hulls, as well as the return on the multi-millions that sponsors invest, updates on competitors and the benefits for a host city.
