Hugo Boss second and all the latest sailing news ...

Welcome to this edition of Sail-World.com's UK newsletter and it's been another giant sailing week around the World.

Sailing headlines have been dominated by the Volvo Ocean Race, Transat Jacques Vabre and the AC45's in San Diego USA. The RC44 World Championship has just commenced in Puerto Calero, Lanzarote and Perth 2011 - the ISAF World Championships are coming up fast.

The Transat Jacques Vabre, the transatlantic race from Le Havre to Costa Rica, has been won by Jean-Pierre Dick and Jérémie Beyou (Virbac-Paprec3). the duo set a new record. Hugo Boss (Alex Thomson) took second, a tired skipper happy to be on terra firma.

After leading early, Groupama 4 (Franck Cammas) fell behind the Volvo Ocean Race fleet but is now clawing the miles after suffering in the Doldrums.

The America's Cup World Series in San Diego USA is underway with the Match Racing Championship concluded. Enery Team finished second to Oracle Racing Spithill. You can watch it live via Sail-World.com

Transat Jacques Vabre - Seventh edition toughest for Golding

Transat Jacques Vabre - Gamesa co-skippers, Golding and Dubois, completed the double handed race from Le Havre to Puerto Limon in ninth place. With the fleet of 13 Open 60s reduced to nine by a succession of storms which battered the fleet with boat breaking conditions during the first week of the race, Golding completed his record seven finishes from seven consecutive editions since 1999... The Actual duo were smart in their choice to dive south early, seeking to miss the worst of big low pressure system and were also able to slide across the high pressure ridge which proved problematic for the IMOCA Open 60's.... Fisher's View: 'Isn't that a dainty dish to set before the King?'

With owner Larry Ellison in the sixth-man seat aboard Oracle Racing 4, Jimmy Spithill and his crew turned on a strident performance to beat Emirates Team New Zealand in two straight races to go into the final of the ACWS Match Racing Championship. America's Cup: Team Korea - It's never over until it's over...

In a light breeze of 8-10 knots, it was always going to be tough to repeat the achievements that Team Korea have shown at the previous regattas, and from there Draper stared at Aleph's ‘derriere' for much of the race.
