In case anyone noticed - the Editorial on our last newsletter was a little truncated due to a faulty cut-paste-send sequence. Otherwise known 'operator error'. Apologies. If you didn't notice - never mind.
Only 70-odd miles from Cape Town, Gold Coast Australia is heading for another 'leg' win in the Clipper Race - the third out of three. On a slightly smaller race course (and in slightly smaller boats) the Dubai 22ft dhows have started a new season - the pictures, as ever, look wonderful.
Team Sanya has arrived in Alicante for the imminent start of the Volvo Ocean Race. Skipper Mike Sanderson said that being in Alicante was a significant milestone given that the project only launched in June. It's a pretty short lead-in time, but nobody should bet against Sanderson for the coming race, even if the boat does look like someone had an accident with a kindergarten paintbox.
'Ownership' of the Laser Class is now safely back in the hands of designer Bruce Kirby, after some interesting legal shenanigans, and the double-handed Global Ocean Race is under way, with boats heading for the Straits of Gibraltar. Read on.
