In our last edition of Sail-World's NZ newsletter we reported Taylor Burn's win in the World Splash Championships in the Czech Pepublic.
Another New Zealand sailor, Scott Leith pre-dated that win, when Leith successfully defended his World Laser Masters Championship title in San Francisco. While we carried reports of the Masters Worlds in Sail-World, we are now able to bring you a report on the efforts and success of the 16 strong New Zealand team at the Laser Masters Worlds, which culminated in the World title win.
The Rambler capsizing continues to make the news. In this edition we feature a photo sequence of the New Zealand built yacht being righted in Barley Cove, Co. Cork. It wasn't a straight forward operation, taking several attempts. The extent of the damage to the yacht can be clearly seen - although the hull itself seems to have come through the capsize and tow very well.

Staying with the Rolex Fastnet Race, in this edition of Sail-World, we have featured a four minute video compilation shot from aboard the Farr52, Bob - which takes in the start, rounding Fastnet Rock and more all using 'Rail-Cam'. If you have ever sailed this classic, then enjoy some of the memories. And if you have never sailed it - then this video is as close as you will get. Again this video underlines how easy it is to shoot and produce very viewable video and images - using gear that most of the so-called Facebook generation have as standard kit.
Back to San Francisco, this time for the 18ft skiff regatta, in which two New Zealand plus Australians and US crew are competing. We have daily reports and some great images from Rich Roberts, plus stories of a few of the past champions once more getting a fast ride.

We also report on a story that has been building for some months, and which came to a head in early August with major US online and retail chain, West Marine, offering a refund on 13 models of Rocna anchor that were sold by them. The issue over the Chinese manufacture of the New Zealand developed anchors has raged back and forth in the online forums for months, and we believe will be picked up by some very reputable print publications in their September editions.
