ACWS' Cascais is over - well done, ETNZ - and right now the story is the Fastnet Race. In fact, it has been THE story for the last few days, according to the web metrics, even while the ACWS was running. Is there a message there?

Probably the biggest item in the Fastnet story is Rambler 100 losing her keel. Fast and efficient action from the RNLI's Baltimore lifeboat, and all crew are safe ashore in West Cork. Shipwrecked, and cast up on the shore in Ireland... pictures and video below.

Special congratulations to Ian Walker and his merry men on board the Abu Dhabi VO70 Azzam on setting a new Fastnet monohull race record - maybe when the 'opposition' measures 100 ft, this is the biggest story of all? And of course Maxi Banque Populaire setting a new multihull record. All the stories, below.

Rolex Fastnet race: Azzam takes Volvo Open 70 honours

Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing's Azzam won the three-way battle of Volvo Open 70s in the Rolex Fastnet Race on Day 3 on Tuesday, finishing four minutes ahead of Groupama 4. Team Sanya were still on the course at 0730 GMT. Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, skippered by Ian Walker, finished first in a time of one day 18 hours 39 minutes and 0 seconds.
