Sail-World New Zealand: 16 August 2011
 | | Rambler crew with the bulb-less keel of the upturned yacht clearly visible - photos from the Fastnet Race rescue taken by Nigel Millard | Welcome to Sail-World.com's New Zealand newsletter for 16 August 2011
There's only one story in the sailing world today - the capsize of the fastest supermaxi in the world during the Rolex Fastnet Race.
In fact there has only been one story in the sailing world all week, which is the Rolex Fastnet Race, which has dominated Sail-World's story rankings - despite our saturation coverage of the the final days of the America's Cup World Series.
The Rolex Fastnet Race has been taking nine of the top ten stories for the past couple of days - despite saturation coverage of the America's Cup World Series.

And the event that did crack the top ten, was not America's Cup but the latest report from the Solitaire du Figaro, which is rounding Wolf Rock off the Cornish coast.
Meridien Marinas Airlie Beach Race Week is also featuring well - with the ORMA60 TeamVodafoneSailing flying around the course - more in this edition.

But back to the capsize - we have a report which is being updated along with images and now a video of one of the crew talking of the events in an Irish pub.
We will continue to update as the events unfold, right now it is after midnight in Ireland, and we don't expect too much more for another six hours or so.

Meanwhile Banque Populaire has finished and set a new record for the Rolex Fastnet classic.
And in the van of the fleet itself there is great interest in the performance of the three Volvo Ocean race entries. To the surprise of some the revamped Telefonica Blue, now the Chinese entry Team Sanya, led the two latest generation entries, Groupama and Abu Dhabi as they cleared Land's End and headed out across the Irish sea.
We'll keep updating from the offshore classic as it unfolds over the next couple of days – stay tuned to www.sail-world.com
