Round Texel Race, Rolex Baltic Week and more sailing news

This year's J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race had something for everyone. With 1,908 boats participating, 16,000 sailors faced wind speeds of up to 28 knots with huge swells hitting the fleet off the Needles and at St. Catherine's.
French skipper Lionel Lemonchois on his 50ft multihull Prince de Bretagne, took line honours in 3hrs 49m and 58s.

The K6 Eurocup is underway in Trentino Garda, Italy and high winds on day one meant high speeds.
Rolex Baltic Week will officially open in the newly renovated home of Flensburg Sailing Club and a total of nine races are scheduled for each day of the event, while the RC44 Class head to beautiful Sardinia for the Cagliari Cup. Two new teams will join the circuit, MAG Racing from Poland and RUS-Seven Sail Racing Team.
The 34th Zwitserleven Round Texel Race was won by Mischa Heemskerk (NED) and Bastiaan Tentij (NED), who topped off a great week after also winning the Dutch Catamaran Championship.
