Tomorrow a small fleet - five boats - sets off from Hong Kong to Khaosiung in the inaugural Taiwan Straits Race, something that would have been almost unthinkable just a few years ago. Some of the Hong Kong fleet will join in the Dapeng Bay Regatta that follows, along with local competitors, boats from Xiamen, and an expected contingent from Japan. Sounds like good news for 'regional' sailing...
Plenty of other news here, from an impressive super-fast long distance delivery by Doyle Sails to Artemis's appointment as new Challenger of Record for AC34.
Just for a change, the sun is shining in Hong Kong (can we re-run last weekend's regatta, please, just for a few photos?). Must be time to get out on the water this weekend - beginning with the Taiwan Straits start tomorrow.
