The 29th Garda Optimist Meeting was hosted by Fraglia Vela Riva during Easter week, April 21 to 24, and was a huge success and it seems the kids had a great time.
The opening regatta of the 2011 Mediterranean sailing season has come to an end, the Mapfre PalmaVela wrapped with quite a few TP52 crews using the event as a warm up to the upcoming Audi MedCup Circuit. Well done to the Azzurra Sailing Team for taking out the TP52 prize. Reports and images from the event on Sail-World.com.
On the America's Cup front, Emirates Team New Zealand have confirmed their campaign and major sponsors and Wouter Verbraak (NED) and co-skipper Andy Meiklejohn (NZL) on Hugo Boss completed the Barcelona World Race.
