 Powerboat-World will be aboard a new Round the World record attempt
Come aboard, hope you've got plenty of spare time, because we have plenty here in the pages of Powerboat-World to keep you occupied.

When the 78 foot powerboat Earthrace broke the Round the World record in 2008, Powerboat-World.com was part of the technology team, bring dailiy sat phone reports on every one of the 60 day passage. Now a British group are starting on building a wave piercing 100 footer with a range of 5000 miles on a single tank of diesel. They are aiming for a 50 day passage and yes Powerboat-world.com will be there with daily audio reports from the skipper and photographs from the boat. We have some initial news today and will be bringing you exclusive reports on the build, the sea trials and of course the record attempt itself. Watch this space.

Are there pirates out there?
‘Out there' in this case means the waters of South East Asia and the Asian Superyacht crowd is claiming reports of piracy in the region are a myth.
I guess that's easy to believe provided you have never been, well, pirated.
Personally, I would want suitable armament and perhaps a couple of SAS veterans in my crew were I to be cruising some Asian waters, particularly in Philippine and Burma regions.
Well, that's unlikely, so I'll totally ignore the pirate breed and assume it's all a myth.
