Flood impact felt nationwide, PIMEX begins, life support superyachtAs we send this out, inclement weather is making headlines around the world - none so devastating as the impact of the flooding in regional Queensland. More than 200,000 people have been affected, some losing their homes, businesses and in four cases, their lives. So many services distrupted, so much infrastructure destroyed and livelihoods swept away. If you can help, please consider donating via www.qld.gov.au/floods
On a brighter note, plenty of the country is bathing in sunshine and looking forward to many weeks ahead of great boating conditions. Even Queensland boating and marine businesses along the coast and on the islands are reporting 'business as normal', thanks in part to internet interest which has been driving enquiry.
So this week, we have tried to balance the bad news with some good, international stories about new products, energy potential in the waves, and a superyacht that offers 'totally self-sufficient, carbon zero living'.
While many of you may have been away or still enjoying a break, those of you back on deck are welcome to get in touch with your news and views.
