Route du Rhum, AC, ISAF, Louis Vuitton and more world sailing news
Welcome to our news from another exciting week in sailing.
Those intrepid souls, the solo sailors, are nearing the end of their Route du Rhum journey. Franck Cammas' giant multihull Groupama 3 crossed the line ahead of the fleet, while Roland Jourdain onboard Veolia Environnement is the IMOCA 60 and overall winner. Jourdain has made history as the only skipper to win the event twice. Well done!
News that the ORC and IRC are co-operating, the Velux 5 Oceans skippers are finishing the first leg of the race, the Louis Vuitton Trophy Dubai regatta got off to a bang - literally - and the countdown has begun for the Barcelona World Race start.
