Another hugely successful China Coast Regatta has come and gone, further cementing the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's place as one of the very top racing events in Asia. A great fleet, fabulous sailing conditions and high quality race management an organisation makes this event that plenty of Asian events could usefully take a look at.
Right now, Sail-World Asia is in Korea at the Jeeonnam-Jeju International Yacht Race, where the hotel doesn't have towels, let alone an internet connection, and there is no recognisable media centre. So please excuse some patchy reporting. More when possible...

China Coast Regatta 2010 – bring it on, BRING IT ON! Guy Nowell, Sail-World Asia,  Yesterday's closer was further proof – as if any were needed – that when it comes to flat-out-racing-never-mind-the-frills, the RHKYC's China Coast Regatta is the very best in Asia. Three days of hard graft on the water closed out with a day of 20+ kts wind (at least two boats recorded 32 kts immediately pre-start), lumpy seas and a swell big enough to swallow the Committee Boat entirely.... China Coast Regatta 2010 and the 'two Stugeron swell' Lindsay Lyons, RHKYC Media,  The final day of Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's flagship regatta, sponsored by Ocean Safety, offered a challenge to the fleets, with 25 to 27 knots and a ‘two Stugeron' swell. Velux 5 Oceans day 5 - Brad Van Liew knock down Velux 5 Oceans,  rican ocean racer Brad Van Liew had his first scare of the VELUX 5 OCEANS just days into the first ocean sprint when his yacht Le Pingouin was knocked flat in the Atlantic. 2010 VinaCapital Vietnam Race stopped by Super-Typhoon Megi RHKYC Media,  Rear Commodore Sailing, Russ Parker, stressed that 'RHKYC regards safety as its first priority for all its events, particularly for its international Category 1 Offshore events.
