IBEX Awards, Census of Marine Life launched, big names for SIBEX

Just some of the creatures discovered in the Coral Sea over the past 10 years.  ..

This week we have a stack of interesting stories – the 'Census of Marine Life' which is a 10 year study that has dug up thousands of new species the Coral Sea and beyond, MYS in review, some of the winners and highlights of IBEX, an update from China's SIBEX show, preview of Annapolis later this week, and plans for Dubai International Boat Show in March 2011.

There's also a very helpful study from the US Recreational Boating & Fishing Federation shedding some light on consumer habits and attitudes buying boats – just in time for the southern hemisphere summer season.

Take a look at the start of the incredible journey of the remarkable 101' solar powered PlanetSolar boat, known as ‘Turanor', which is expected to take 160 days on its journey around the globe to highlight the potential of renewable energy sources, particularly as viable options for the yachting and shipping industries.

If you're off to Mandurah in the West for this year's show, we wish clear skies and good sales your way.
All in all, a massive week of reading, and more original and informative stories every day.

Watch this space for coverage of the Australian experience at IBEX last week, along with reports from other international shows.

Have a great week! Hope to hear your news and views at editor@marinebusiness-world.com
