Welcome to this week's Sail-World.com UK newsletter.
We have lots of dinghy sailing news. Ben Ainslie is to venture back into the Finn, we have news from the ISAF Youth World Championships, the British Classic Yacht Club Panerai Cowes Regatta is underway and the 470 Worlds have just concluded. Read how the British sailors fared. Cork Week concluded and there was an all British podium at the Laser 4000 Europeans.
Internationally, another event on the Audi MedCup Circuit is underway, the Extreme 40 World Championship has come and gone, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race concluded and the SB3 Worlds are underway.

Vixen sets sail to retrace Uffa Fox's historic Scandinavian Adventure Olle Appelberg,  Vixen - Luke Yeats, Jack Gifford and Will Shepherd will be sharing one berth, so they aren't counting on much sleep. GP14s - Midland Bell Series at Banbury SC Banbury SC,  Banbury SC held its GP14 open meeting on Sunday 18 July. John Merricks Sailing Trust - Charity Cricket Challenge raises £1,055 Mike Gerber,  On Sunday 18th July, Hamble village pubs The Bugle, King & Queen, The Victory and Ye Olde Whyte Harte all fielded teams for the coveted Bugle Charity Cricket Challenge Cup. The annual contest is organised by The Bugle in order to raise money for the John Merricks Sailing Trust, a charity that offers financial assistance to support youth sailing across the UK.... RS200 GUL Grand Prix - Probably the best event of the last few years Debbie Darling,  RS200 Gul Grand Prix sailors arrived at Exe SC over 17-18 July 2010 and experienced – and this seems to be said every report, but its true! – Probably the best event of the last few years. Those missing the event, mainly because they had gone early to Garda for either holiday time or sb3 worlds, definitely made a mistake because I'm sure Exe had better conditions than out there.... British Classic Yacht Club Panerai Cowes Regatta – Day two cancelled Justin Chisholm,  British Classic Yacht Club Panerai Cowes Regatta skippers and crews were greeted by millpond conditions out on the Solent on day two. With little prospect in the forecasts of sufficient breeze for sensible racing, Principal Race Officer Tony Lovell made the difficult decision to abandon racing for the day.... RS400 Gul Grand Prix - 400s receive a warm welcome at Felixstowe Tiffany Willcox,  RS400 Gul Grand Prix's sixth event saw the 400's visit Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club on the 17th & 18th July. The forecast was for a breezy event, which seemed to deter some of the boats heading off to Garda the following week. Twelve boats did however compete in this fantastic event.... Cadets at Thorpe Bay - Open report Howard Warrington,  Cadets at Thorpe Bay. Open Report from the 10th and 11th July 2010. Various clashes with other events and with some boats already on their way to Poland for the World Championships reduced the anticipated turn out we had hoped for but we still mustered 14 boats with five from Thorpe Bay and visitors from Stone, Fishers Green and Royal Burnham.... Classic Regatta 2010 day one - Mediterranean sailing Justin Chisholm,  British Classic Yacht Club Panerai Cowes Regatta 2010 competitors were treated to sailing conditions more akin to the Mediterranean than the Solent during day one racing. Some early cloud cover this morning quickly burnt away to reveal clear blue skies and by the time the fifty-two boat fleet reached the start line an idyllic ten to twelve knots breeze had developed across the entire racecourse.... International 14 Prince of Wales Series - Win to Pink and McGrane Ian Roman,  International 14 Prince of Wales Series - After two days lost due to too much wind and the PoW race yesterday, the series races for the International 14's were reduced to three short races on Sunday in Hayling Bay. Brest Classic Week 2010 - A successful first edition! Rivacom,  Brest Classic Week's first edition came to a close this afternoon. During this final day, the 40 crews competed in a coastal course, spanning a dozen or so miles, in a 10 to 12 knot SW'ly breeze. Ultimately, Dione, a newcomer to the Classic Yacht circuit, emerged as the winner in the overall ranking in Class A, while the young crew of Bim Bam from Brest took victory in Class B.... Match Race decides 2010 Womens World 470 Championship Sail-World,  The first race, for the Mens title had already been decided ahead of the Medal Race. However that was not the case with the Women and only a single point separated the two top crews The New Zealand crew of Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie led the regatta with 23pts.
