Editorial, March 12, 2010.

Earlier this week I was in Sydney for the Rosehill Trailerboat Show and it was an outstanding effort by all involved.

More than 50 exhibitors turned out, record crowds and plenty of boats were sold over both days, it showed there's increasing strength in the boating industry now the financial downturn seems to be behind us.

Next week, instead of the trip south to Sydney my compass will take me north to Brisbane and the 2010 Tinnie and Tackle Show; organiser, Marine Queensland was delighted to report a 30 percent increase in exhibitor numbers and that means more marine goodies for everyone to see.

We have quick preview, too, of the forthcoming Bridge to Bridge powerboat race on the Hawkesbury River, just north-west of Sydney.

This year's race celebrates the 74th running of what has been termed powerboat racing's most iconic race.

Some interesting news related to one my favourite engine marques; take a look at a sleek, compact blue water game boat out of Cairns, in far north Queensland, powered by the superb Yanmar engines.

The boat is brand new, looks the goods and with Yanmar I don't see anything to hold it back.

And how about renowned wet weather gear manufacturer Henri Lloyd?

Known worldwide for kitting out the world's best yachtsmen and women, Henri Lloyd is now supplying the right clothing for Formula 1 race team, and I don't mean Formula 1 boats, it's Formula 1 cars for Henri!

Cars and boats, clothing and boat shows, if there's any connection to powerboats this is right where you'll find what's happening.

Enjoy the read and tell all your mates to drop by Powerboat-World if they want to be rated as informed powerboaters.
