Miami report card, Marine Qld state of the industry, Korea invests
From the Bahamas to Beiruit, Miami to Rosehill, we have the latest news, issues, products and innovations from the global marine industry.
The post-show report is in for Miami and while attendance was down just 9%, mostly due to heavy snow storms in other regions, interest and sales were buoyant. Take a look at Bob Wonders' insightful first-hand report into the event – the world's largest.
Also this week, news on the Beirut boat show in May, which has been revived due to strong interest around the region, a Maritime School opening in the Bahamas that aims to position the country as “the top flag in the world”, and up to date information on Korea's ambitions to become a real force in recreational boating. Comparisons to Australia's Whitsundays might be a little generous, but the cruising grounds in the south of the country are certainly spectacular and worthy of their popularity.
We have been busy this week. News changes daily, so pop in frequently.
Jeni Bone, editor
