Editorial

Step over the coaming and make yourself ship shape, it's time to absorb all the news that matter from the world of powerboats.

Down south in Melbourne, more than 700 anglers are sharpening their hooks and checking their gear as they vie for $45,000 in cash and prizes, including the chance to win a brand new Haines Hunter.

Further north, on the Queensland Gold Coast, we visit one of the most professional brokerage operations in our experience in the form of Ensign Ship Brokers.

Have a stroll through with us and we're sure you'll be equally impressed.

News from both sides of the Tasman, too, with respected builder Salthouse Marine moving into a new waterfront facility while colleague Jeni Bone reveals plans for larger boats from Mustang Marine.

A timely warning, too, from NSW Maritime of the potentially dangerous ‘slingshot' effect that could come into play when towing a skier, a ‘boarder or anyone using the wide range of equipment available these days.

Visitors to the 2010 Rosehill Gardens Trailer Boat Show (March 6/7) will be able to get all the latest news from NSW Maritime, always a welcome exhibitor at the popular exhibition.

For those thinking of a new boat, here's a marque to bring out the green streak of jealousy, the superbly built sportboats by Bavaria Motor Yachts.

One of the company's latest models has already been nominated in the up to 50' category for European Yacht of the Year.

On the performance front, we have it all, as usual, from Formula 1 to offshore racing and everything in between.

After all, what else would you expect to find on www.powerboat-world.

This is where it's all at.

Enjoy the catch up and drop by regularly as we update the news constantly.
