Come aboard for another voyage through the world of powerboats and power boating.

Plenty to make mention of this week, from the final article in our E10 series, from Ken Evans from mercury to reader demands for another story on Sea Survival Safety Courses to a somewhat disturbing story on maritime debris.

On a happier note Stephen Milne reports on an enjoyable four-day journey for Riviera owners.

Of course, the week started off rather sadly for the team at Powerboat-World and our colleagues on Sail-World and MarineBusinessWorld as we attended the funeral services for the late Andrew Short.

It's history now that Andrew, one of the top marine dealers in the land (Sea Ray, Mercury etc) lost his life along with that of a close friend and fellow sailor, when his maxi yacht was smashed into matchwood off Port Kembla.

Andrew knew the sea demanded respect from all who attempted to tame it; we can all take some solace from the fact that ‘Shorty', as he was widely known, died doing what he loved most.

Plenty happening on the competition front, from P1 to Formula 1 and it won't be long before we're previewing the next round of the Class 1 World Offshore Powerboat championships.
