Welcome to another edition of our Powerboat-World newsletter
We spent last weekend on the shore of Moreton Bay at Scarborough and Redcliffe, for the running of the Redcliffe 100, opening round of the Australian Offshore Powerboat Club's ‘08/'09 Superboat Series.
Team Maritimo made the best possible start to the series with a convincing Class I victory while for others, the race will be remembered for the wrong reasons, including DNFs (Did Not Finish) and DNSs (Did Not Start).
We've also scored an interview with Maritimo's Norwegian ace, Pal Virik Nilson and report on that legendary name, Donzi, releasing a range of new models to the US market.
In a few weeks time Australian Ken Warby will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of setting what is still the current world record. His speech at Sydney Maritime Museum will certainly be worth hearing. Amazing when you look at the 'canopy' on Ken's boat, you'd think that his record would have been blown away by now. Just a one of a kind guy and a one of a kind boat. Details below.
|Ken Warby and Spirit of Australia |
More things to boating that racing, of course and Denby Browning from Riviera reports on the Lady Musgave experience. And some good news from the R-Marine network who been putting runs on the board.
This week we reveal that finally Sydney's Rozelle Bay has been backed long term, something that will only aid recreational boating in the harbour city.
Lots more news, have a browse below and check on line every day to see the latest news from the Powerboat World.
