With little respite in the weather, the Finn World Masters fleet in La Rochelle completed two more great races in moderate, cold winds. Three time champion Andre Budzien (GER) takes the lead from Erik Lidecis (USA) and Michael Maier (CZE). Race wins went to Budzien, Maier, Paul Blowers (GBR) and Karl Purdie (NZL).

On the first day of the 2013 Delta Lloyd Regatta, despite the rain and cold, the sailors put on all the warmest gear to start the first races. It was an intense day on the water with a tight programme. Olympic and Paralympic classes sailed three races apart from the 49ers and RS:X who had four races back to back.

Sail-World has obtained images of Artemis Racing's damaged AC72 as it was hauled from San Francisco Bay at Alameda.
The images show the main beam broken at about mid-way to the port hull. It is not known if this broke before, during, or after the capsize. Or indeed, if some other part failed before the main beam fractured.

The Delta Lloyd Regatta, taking place 21-25 May, has consistently been a successful event for Australian sailors, with the team winning 12 medals in Medemblik over the last 4-year Olympic cycle. While a smaller team than some previous years has made the trip to Holland in 2013, Aussie sailors will be in medal contention in a number of classes.

The 2013 Finn World Masters has been officially opened at the Société des Régates Rochelaises (SRR) in La Rochelle, France, though Sunday's practice race was cancelled as strong winds, accompanied by incessant rain, kept the sailors ashore all day. A few sailors did venture out for some last minute practice, while the rest preserved their energy for the racing which starts Monday.

Kirby Inc. yesterday dramatically increased the pressure on LP, ISAF and the ILCA when they asked the US Federal Court in Connecticut to issue a prejudgment remedy against LP.
If this was to be granted as requested LP and its associates would be unable to build Lasers or have anyone else build them for them, while the Courts then could take their time hearing the case.

Balmain Sailing Club, Drummoyne Sailing Club and Greenwich Flying Squadron have joined fleets to put on a seven race winter series starting on Sunday 19th May with races to be conducted fortnightly. Eighty yachts have signed up over four divisions with racing to be conducted between Goat Island and the Gladesville Bridge.
